MINNETONKA, Minn.
Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- KTI, Inc., one of the country's leading logistics providers and transportation brokers, today announced it was ranked the number one transportation company in Minnesota and the Midwest on the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest growing private companies. KTI also made the list in 2007 and 2008.
Established in 1997, KTI coordinates and manages truckload, LTL, drayage and intermodal shipments for small to large companies throughout the United States. In the past three years, KTI has experienced almost 184.8 percent growth largely due to its customer service and retention. This tremendous growth along with its best business practices landed KTI as a three-time consecutive winner on the Inc. 5000 list. The company also was ranked the 41st fastest growing logistics and transportation company in the nation.
The Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of 2005, and therefore able to show four full calendar years of sales. Additionally, they have to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent -- not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies -- as of December 31, 2008. Revenue in 2005 must have been at least $200,000, and revenue in 2008 must have been at least $2 million. The top 10 percent of companies on the list comprise the Inc. 500, now in its 28th year.
"Our transportation experts successfully provide our customers with innovative and cost-effective transportation solutions," said Michael Kroul, President of KTI. "To be recognized for three consecutive years is a testament to our dedication to our customers, employees and the industry."
