SAN ANTONIO, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- InGenesis has made the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies for the third consecutive year, according to 2010 rankings released by Inc. magazine.  The company owned by Latina entrepreneur Veronica Ann Edwards also was the top minority-owned healthcare staffing firm in the Southwest region.

The San Antonio-based company has risen steadily in the rankings each year, from its debut at No. 2027 in 2008, to No. 1157 in 2009, and up to No. 684 this year.

"Joining the list of some of America's most successful businesses for the third year in a row is a tribute to our dedication and our stability," president and CEO Edwards said.  "We have continued to thrive despite staffing shortages in our industry and one of the worst economic downturns in our country's history."

InGenesis specializes in healthcare staffing and consulting for medical treatment facilities throughout the U.S. and globally.  Edwards led InGenesis to nearly 500 percent growth from 2006 to 2009 and 580 percent growth from 2004 to 2007.  In 2009 the company and its joint ventures won more than $400 million in contract awards and a substantial share of a $1.27 billion multi-vendor contract to be implemented over five years.

Today the company Edwards founded as a home-based business in 1998 manages more than 750 employees at 54 government and military facilities in 22 states, with contracts in four countries.  InGenesis professionals serve in at least 60 medical and scientific specialties.

Edwards earned a Master in Business Administration degree and is pursuing a doctorate with a concentration in human resources and organizational leadership from the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio.  The university earlier this year honored Edwards with the Distinguished Alumni for Professional Achievement Award.
