The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America's fastest growing privately held companies.

"The leaders of the companies on this year's Inc. 5000 have figured out how to grow their businesses during the longest recession since the Great Depression," said Inc. president Bob LaPointe. "The 2010 Inc. 5000 showcases a particularly hardy group of entrepreneurs."

In total, this year's Inc. 5000 employ a record 1.4 million people, up from one million on last year's list.

This year, Paul Dent, the CEO and founder of Hirease, will accept the Inc 5000 award in Washington DC.  He says, "It's an honor to make the Inc500/5000 list for a second year in a row.  Utilizing creative resourcing to make it through the recession, reinvesting in our infrastructure and most importantly keeping our employees engaged is what translated into our continued growth.  We are excited for the future and thank our staff and clients for their faith in our business model."

Hirease is the service leader in background screening that works hand-in-hand with clients to mitigate the risks in hiring. With an array of employment screening, drug testing and compliance services, they have set the standard in client service and become, in Dent's words, "a better way to better people."  Hirease, a Southern Pines, North Carolina, based company with offices in Omaha, Nebraska and Jacksonville, Florida made the list in 2009 and again in 2010.
