Local Web Hosting Company SingleHop Ranked as #1 Chicago IT Company by Inc. Magazine

CHICAGO, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- SingleHop, Inc. has been named the fastest-growing Chicago-based IT company in the Inc. 500, a list of America's fastest-growing private companies. SingleHop, which provides dedicated servers and complex web hosting, is ranked #1 among all web hosting companies, #2 in the Chicago area and #3 in the broader IT services industry. The firm fared extremely well in the list with an overall placement of #58. The Inc. 500 list is published annually by Inc. Magazine and has included technological giants such as Microsoft, Gateway, and Oracle in its ranks.

SingleHop earned a place in the Inc. 500 by demonstrating exceptional growth, increasing its sales by 3,896% from 2006 to 2009. "Fast growth at any time is a big achievement; fast growth during the past few years is just short of miraculous," said Inc. editor Jane Berentson. "The Inc. 500 consists of these just-short-of miraculous companies, the ones that through ingenuity and ambition have increased revenue, hired employees, and grown fast in difficult economic times."

SingleHop employs more than 50 people at its Chicago headquarters and two Chicago-area data centers, in the City of Chicago and Elk Grove Village near O'Hare airport. The company, which operates nearly 6,000 web servers for over 3,500 of customers representing more than 100 countries, is additionally ranked #2 among the total 19 Chicago-area businesses on the Inc. 500 list. "SingleHop's position as Inc.'s number-one web hosting company in the country is testament to the company's tremendous growth, and parallels Chicago's growth as a thriving tech center," said Dan Lyne, business development director at World Business Chicago. "We congratulate SingleHop on their remarkable success."

Zak Boca, President and Chief Executive Officer of SingleHop, noted that the "accomplishment celebrates all the hard work and dedication that all the firm's employees have put in, and continues to highlight the strong entrepreneurial environment and opportunities available in Chicago." SingleHop's revenues are projected at $20 million for 2010, up from $6 million in 2009. Boca recently announced the launch of Cascade, an innovative cloud-computing platform which is expected to further accelerate the company's growth.
