This marks the fourth time in a row Vaco has made the list in it's first eight years of existence.

"This award is based on percentage growth so every year it gets tougher to make the list as revenues grow," says Vaco founder Jerry Bostelman.  "Making the list so consistently is independent validation of the epic service our 1,400 employees and consultants enthusiastically deliver to our 3,200 valued clients across the nation."

In 2007, Vaco topped the fastest growing company list at #33. 2008's listing named Vaco #320, 2009's number was #927 and 2010's ranking was 3305.  The Vaco family of companies has grown  to 25 locations throughout the US and $110M in revenue since it's de novo start in Brentwood in October 2002. Vaco partners with clients on critical projects and strategic talent acquisitions in the areas of finance, accounting,  technology and administration.

Bostelman credits the entrepreneurial professionals at Vaco with furthering the empowered culture upon which the company was founded.  The company name, Vaco, is derived from a Latin word meaning "to free yourself from work".  More on Vaco can be found at www.vaco.com.

"It's good to see so many strong Tennessee companies on the list with us -- Simplex, Passport Health, HCA, NationLink -- we're in good company and grateful to count them as clients and friends" says Kevin Witt who leads the Vaco Nashville office.

The 2010 Inc. 5000 serves as a unique illustration of the profound changes taking place in the U.S. economy. The Government Services sector showed the biggest gain in terms of the number of companies on the list, up 33 percent from last year to 335 companies. Government Services was also the second-fastest-growing sector in terms of median revenue growth, posting a 202 percent gain over the 2006-2009 measuring period.

Despite the fact that most of this year's measuring period of 2006-2009 took place during the latest recession, aggregate revenue among the companies on the list actually increased to $321.6 billion, up more than 50 percent from last year.

The effects of the recession are seen, however, in the median three-year growth rate, which dropped to 96 percent from last year's 126 percent. This year's Inc. 5000 employ a record 1.4 million people, up from one million on last year's list.
