Corporate United Joins Inc. Magazine's Exclusive List Of America's 5,000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies For The Sixth Consecutive Year

Group purchasing organization continues to experience sustained growth while helping member companies realize total cost of ownership savings.

CLEVELAND, Aug. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Corporate United, the nation's largest group purchasing organization (GPO), today announced its sixth consecutive year of ranking on the Inc. 5000 list. The company is just one of four Northeast Ohio companies listed that have achieved six-time honoree status.

The Inc. ranking is based on percentage revenue growth from 2006 through 2009. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by June 30, 2006. Only 5,000 out of approximately seven million privately-held U.S. businesses were named to the 2013 list.

As a GPO, Corporate United is comprised of member corporations that look to the company not only for cost savings, but also for thought leadership, best practice sharing and long-term solutions. Corporate United currently serves more than 200 corporate members throughout the U.S.

"Celebrating six years on the Inc. 5000 list is something not many organizations can claim," said Marc Rosen, president of Corporate United. "We are one of only 15 Ohio companies and one of just four in Northeast Ohio that have achieved the distinction of winning six times. This milestone attests to the hard work of our valued employees, members and suppliers."

According to the magazine, median growth rate of 2013 Inc. 500|5000 companies remains an impressive 97 percent, despite a stagnant economic environment. The companies on this year's list report having created over 400,000 jobs in the past three years, and aggregate revenue among the honorees reached $299 billion.

"Growth is a key and crucial component to our success as a member-based organization," said Rosen. "When Corporate United grows, the resources we can share with our members and suppliers grow, enabling us to provide more cost savings and resource flexibility for all our stakeholders."

"The Inc. 5000 was harder to get into this year than ever in its history," said Inc. editor Eric Schurenberg. "The median company on the list increased sales more than 140 percent...while the average honoree grew a mind-boggling 468 percent. Those are results most companies could only dream of in the economy of the past three years."
