ABG of Illinois was ranked No. 204 in the financial services industry in Inc. magazine's annual prestigious 5000 list representing the nation's fastest-growing businesses. The list ranks private companies by overall revenue growth over a three-year period.

ABG's ranking was based on its 25 percent growth in revenues experienced from 2006 to 2009. This is the first appearance on the list for ABG, one of the largest full service retirement plan providers in the country with clients in 40 states.

John Blossom, CEO of Alliance Benefit Group of Illinois, said the ranking is a testament to ABG's ability to leverage its expertise and reputation to drive continued success.

"We continue to provide an outstanding value proposition to our clients, and our track record of growth highlights that," said Blossom. "ABG has always focused on attaining successful retirement outcomes for our clients and their plan participants. This is our mission and it will continue to drive our future growth."

In order to be considered for the list, businesses must have generated at least $2 million in revenue in 2009, be privately held and based in the U.S.

"The leaders of the companies on this year's Inc. 5000 have figured out how to grow their businesses during the longest recession since the Great Depression. The 2010 Inc. 5000 showcases a particularly hardy group of entrepreneurs," said Inc. president Bob LaPointe, president of Inc., a monthly magazine based in New York City written for people who run growing companies.

Headquartered in Peoria, Ill., Alliance Benefit Group provides recordkeeping, administration, and investment consulting and advisory services to retirement plans with a total of more than $1.5 billion of plan assets. It was founded in 1968 and currently has 69 employees.

The firm is part of a national network of independently-owned retirement plan consulting, investment advisory, health and welfare consulting and benefits administration firms that operate as licensees of Alliance Benefit Group, LLC.
